Elm Ridge Implements Curb Painting Guidelines
January 7, 2025
The Elm Ridge Water Control Improvement District has implemented new guidelines for community curb painting.
Key Policy Points:
- Color: Only black and white paint are permitted. Homeowners can choose between white numbers on a black background or black numbers on a white background.
- Content: Only the house number and its background can be painted on the curb. No other words, designs, logos, or artwork are allowed.
- Numbering: Templates are required to ensure neat and orderly numbers. Numbers should be approximately 3.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide. The background should extend no more than two inches on either side of the numbers and no more than one inch above and below the numbers. (See images below)
- Placement: The painted number and background must be on the curb and within 5 feet of the end of the homeowner's driveway, on the side closest to the front door of the residence.
- Maintenance: Homeowners are responsible for maintaining the painted numbers and background. If they become worn or faded to the point of illegibility, the homeowner must repaint or remove them entirely at their own expense.
