What is Guardian Connect?
Guardian Connect is a voluntary enrollment program designed to assist individuals with cognitive, developmental, or communication challenges during moments of crisis.
By providing vital information—such as medical details, emergency contacts, and personal communication needs—to first responders, Guardian Connect ensures faster, safer, and more compassionate reunification with loved ones. How the program works!
- Families or caregivers complete a secure registration form
- Information is stored confidentially and only accessed by first responders in emergencies
- Officers are better equipped to safely reunite individuals with their loved ones.
Who Should Enroll?
- Individuals with Autism spectrum Disorder
- Adults living with Alzheimer’s Dementia
- Non-verbal community members
- Anyone who may become disorientated, lost, or confused during crisis
MyID Shop

In a proactive step toward community safety, the Elm Ridge Police Department has partnered with MyID Shop, a secure medical ID platform, to support Guardian Connect participants. This partnership allows enrolled individuals to carry scannable, discreet identification accessories that link directly to their critical information—empowering emergency responders to deliver prompt and personalized care when it's needed most.

If the individual is found wandering, police can search the database for individuals who match the physical description. With photo identification, medical information, and emergency contacts easily accessible, police will be able to return the individual to caregivers quickly and safely.
